Tonight Hope was feeling her way around the house with her eye patches on. She likes to play with the door, so I was listening to the sound of her opening and closing her bedroom door. Suddenly it got quiet, and I knew something was up. I rounded the corner, and she was taking off her eye patches. I took a look at her eyes, and she kept looking over towards the kitchen light. So I took her into the kitchen, and she was looking up at the light smiling. I held up a little jam jar, and she grabbed it right out of my hand! Then I quietly held up a grape. Grabbed it! Held up a spoon. Grabbed it! She was giggling, and kept tilting her head, and looking at me.
I called the doctor, and told him, and he said that it would be too early to be able to make any conclusions about that, but he did find it encouraging……..

I wasn’t sure if my e-mail went through. God is the “Great Physican” and He knows.
And you are the best thing that has happened to that little girl and you will love her unconditionally, just like God loves us.

I was looking at Rumor queen tonight and saw your post about Hope. You may not remember us, but we were at the consulate appointment on the 12th of May with you. We sat in the pews, while your beautiful family (you, Hope and DH at the podium and your other children sat behind us) took your oath. I remember thinking what a special family you were, to adopt this little child with her special needs and have thought of you periodically through the months since we left. I am glad to have found your blog. Bless all of you and I wish more wonderful things to come to your family.

I was mistaken about the CA on the 12th, we saw you in Chongqing when we took our oaths and received the formal picture book and token plate.

Wow, that is wonderful. I can’t wait to hear what the doctor says…believing that God is working in those eyes.

That is very encouraging. I am so touched by your daughter and was sad to hear about the discouraging news re: the surgery. Your daughter sounds like a tough cookie, and I have hope that the retinas will re-attach.
You are so lucky to have Hope.
