Fun Little Things…

I just have to post about our fun time down at the pool yesterday. Up until now, Hope has not wanted to walk with us. She always wants to be carried or put in the stroller.I  know that she went on daily walks with her nannies at Bethel, so I was just waiting for her to get comfortable enough to do it with us. Well yesterday was the day. She looked so cute in a little white dress we got her at one of the shops. The kids were in the pool, and she and I walked around and around and around together while she giggled and clapped. It was one of the best moments we have had on the whole trip! Everytime I said, “You’re Amazing!” She would throw back her head and laugh! It was soo cute!

My friend Pam in Ohio emailed me yesterday morning to go to this one little shop called “A Gift From China”. I headed over there, and boy, was she right! That has to be THE cutest little shop in China. So many cute little handmade gifts, outfits, blankies, etc. All proceeds benefit special needs orphans here in China. The owners are Christians, and were so nice and helpful.

Yesterday, I got a massage for my Mothers Day gift. It was heavenly! If you ever make it to the White Swan Hotel, go to the Health Center and ask for Tina. She is amazing! She even walks on your back!!!! It was like she just pulled all the soreness right out of my back! And the best part is the price—only 30$.

Today all the babies in our travel group will be heading over to the famous Red Couch to take their pictures. Its tradition with adopted babies to take a group picture together on the red couch. They all dress in traditional Chinese outfits, and it should be a fun moment. Then we go over to the American consulate to take a group oath, and tomorrow we are outta here! Im sooo ready to come home.

Will post more later……

    Hi Todd & Kim,

Congratulations on the newest addition to your family. Hope is just precious as are your other children. I found your website via a comment you left on the Knapp’s website.

Delilah, Brad and Mark are dear friends of ours. We adopted our daughter Kamryn in Dec. 2005. Imagine our amazement when we found out that little Mary Grace was waiting in the same orphanage as where our daughter was from!

I was so touched reading about your Gotcha Day. What a special day they had prepared for all of you. I’m happy to hear of your “happy walk” today! Your whole family is amazing.

    Blessings,

    Julie
