After work. Was trying out my new waist belt as a way to trail run with the Oly. Epic fail in that regard although it holds phone and keys nicely. The camera still bounces around too much, so had to carry it the whole time. Was actually climbing an incredibly long and steep trail hill while I took this shot. Huff and puff city.

Also still acclimating to my Vibram five finger trail shoes and boy did I pay for it on this outing. In case you don't know about these shoes, they are minimalist barefoot style shoes that have toe slots that your toes go into to emulate toe splay and they have very minimal flat soles (with fancy tracking design on the bottom). I love the feel of these shoes in general but you have to use the right form and acclimate slowly to using them, and you pay for it when you forget to pay close attention. So I was so focused on carrying the camera that I wasn't always paying close enough attention to my form on the rocky trails and after a few good rocks to the heels I was hurting real good. Yet was having sweaty fun so tried to go a little further than last time, but didn't realize that going past the return trail used last time meant going double distance to get to the next return trail. It was at the farthest point possible from vehicle that my feet screamed at me that they were done and didn't want to go another step in those shoes. It was a long and painful walk back to the car and I can hardly walk today my feet are in so much pain.

And yes this area got lit up really well (as in well done, haha) last year. We almost got evacuated from our house when it was at its worst.

Thanks for visiting my photos!

Day off or after work? Seems to be plenty of light for a likeably stark b&w. Is this part of the area that was burnt last year/earlier this year?
