One of the challenges of this type of shot. This was about a minute of 1sec exposures. You get to see the development on the screen and the orange you speak of was a passerby from the last couple second long exposures. I had already seen from other shots that I needed longer exposure times* to not have them show up in the foreground, especially thanks to the bright direct sunlight hitting there. I could have ended the exposure before he crossed but decided to let it occur just as an experiment, and this is what happened.
*Not sure if two second exposures would have worked here but tried 3.2 second exposures and that caused all foreground passerby's to not show up in shot at all. It's all give and take depending on what the desired look is. In this strong side-light it was definitely more fun trying to get the shorter half second exposures, even though I didn't score anything big. I attribute that more to the composition and the struggle of navigating a public environment. I could have tried a lot of things if I wasn't trying also concerned with staying out of the way of others at the same time... As I said with the other comp, it was also the lack of inspiration with the light... Nice as it was, it wasn't hitting the fountain in an interesting way so there was a tension of what to do with that aspect. This morning, Kim and I were there again for our short Saturday morning breakfast date and the morning sunlight was hitting the fountain in such an amazing way... Of course I couldn't do anything about it.
In hindsight with these shots yesterday, I could have gone around the other side and tried shooting with the fountain backlit, but I was concerned with it washing out the ND filter as I've had happen with the K-1. Even so I would have tried it since I haven't tried it with the Oly, but there were people sitting on the benches so I would have had to resort with being even farther away from the fountain.

Can't quite grasp the orange foreground fog, especially on the left.
