What a contrast between the rock outcrops and the cactus garden. Pain everywhere!

I recognise elements of the geology; nice to get a closer glimpse of the darker, fine sediment fans on the valley floor. The crouching lion dominating the foreground is great.

Wondering how far away you were. Did he have good co-ordinates?

I haven't checked the exif but this seems to be a little higher, with slightly greater separation of this bluff from the next one out.
