You can't go wrong with that lens - sharp and soft all at once.

The Ha$$elblad XPan provides medium format image quality on 35 mm film. It utilizes the entire area of the 35 mm film for either panorama or 35mm format, providing a panorama effect without masking the film or reducing image quality. The panorama negative ia almost three times larger than with traditional masking and over five times larger than that of APS cameras...

The neat thing to me from checking one out the other night is that you get the pano view in the VF and you get the pano in your one shot so you don't have to deal with any stitch glitch...

What I also just learned from looking at the wiki is that it's a rebadged Fuji TX1.. Curious to look those up to see if any less expensive... Edit - nope not less expensive...

Creamy, dreamy, interesting off-centre focus point. And a wonderful contrast between the in focus leaves in the light and the light background. Plus a bonus bokeh-ball perfectly behind the curl of the leaf. Nice one.

Lovely ghostly bokeh. I find the bokeh very well organised, smooth but with good contrasts and good transitions.

Some people on PF say how good the bokeh is on the FA43mm Limited (for example)...it's not a patch on this lens, especially towards the corners. Nice bright exposure.

If this is wide open, I'm willing to wager the FA50/1.4 can't do it this well.

one thing is for sure, his angles got progressively funnier the more beers that were consumed.
