I almost always enjoy these shots, exploring and comparing with our equivalents. Holidays are never long enough to visit many of these places. Great that you got this on a wet day, and with her friend/partner "missing". So much to like.

Great symmetry play here withe rose bowl centrally framed by the arch, but with the extra roof line etc on the right of the frame. Clever.

Very nice into-the-sun shot - pretty small aperture I guess. The gulls performed well for your shot.
