I really don't think the shutter speed was a problem here. The lack of a flash gave the nice bokeh background. If anything maybe giving it a little more DOF with f/2.8 or so would have been useful.

Yes, technically as a portrait this is probably better, and the pose is great, but I like the drama of the other one.

The colours and textures and the look here are all great. Not razor sharp I guess but a perfect portrait rendering for a hairy lady (or gentleman). Just love those dripping bokeh balls.
