Definitely worth a few extra bucks for a genuine Pentax adaptor. The third party ones just don't fit well.

BTW after your horror story about the adapter, I "went out" to ebay, and purchased a second genuine Pentax M42 adapter (I only own one adapter)....The one I found was 50% of the price of all the rest, and in the USofA some are reaching 50 or 60 bucks.
