I don't know what processing you're using here but I've recently discovered bleaching filters as a fun way of taking out cliché colours.

This is lovely. The reasons are stated above, but let me add that the mood of the shot is what grabs me. It has an intensely lethargic quality - I just want to lay down in a lawn chair and watch the sun fade while I finish a beer.

I actually prefer this one; it is so evocative (of summer sundown) and the golden borders to the trees are beautiful. I guess that spikey thing to the right is the only question-mark?
