Terrific pov and comp for telling the story, plus lovely wide open rendering. The candlelight could be tamed a little perhaps, but I like it in combination with the subdued room lighting. I hope his front dreadlocks survived and that he appreciated the occasion.

At least you got a cool photo out of it. We have one cat that will eat ribbons off of mylar balloons and then throw them up on rugs. We don't have any actual carpet in our house, she specifically goes and finds an area rug to deposit them on. Basically had to stop buying balloons.
