Nice late sun catch for a subtle blue/gold show; a couple of freight cars have joined the party too. Is this en route to a forest getaway?

Great! I look forward to seeing how this adventure develops. Shooting through the plants seems a good idea, akin to a bird hide. I find it's movement that disturbs the birds most so ... with a bit of cat constraint ... ... what about setting up one of your cameras on a tripod or other support - "always" in position so birds get used to it, and using remote triggering that doesn't reveal your movement. Other ideas too, but Kim might not approve lol.

This is my fave of the three. I think the image works best with a strong vertical to anchor things, in this case that corner pillar in the centre of the frame. Everything else flows from that; other angular departures become inconsequential. I prefer this one to ###923 because of the red chair's inclusion - reinforced anchoring and catchy spot colour without distracting from the main show. Great colours, love the cloud patterns and the window ghost.

This was the one that initially drew my eye, because of my liking for deliberately rakish angles, but I eventually succumbed to orthodoxy as noted further along.

Easy peasy! Haemorhous mexicanus (House Finch)! I'm sure you'll pull in many more; word usually spreads fast when there's free feed available. Pretty good image too despite your protestations - shows all the ID features clearly, including a bit of attitude.
Heading home again. Sitting in Melbourne airport waiting to board, so a good opportunity to catch up on some pix.

OK I won't
Love the picture though, a familiar story line - beetling "home" before darkness sets in. Gorgeous light; perfectly timed shutter release. The good old K5 with its ISO 80.

Nicely stilled, but where does the "truth" lie - so different to the 2017 version.
