Ripper DA15 image! Blinder of a sunburst and really like how the backlit log margins,and the bunch of ferns leap out of the darkness along the diagonal. I haven't seen the original, but I reckon you'd be hard-pressed to improve on what you have here.

That's a huge lift compared to the original! Very nicely done.

While I'm here - where did that Mermaid Cove redux end up. I've scouted PF a few times now without any luck - was it actually a part of a PF challenge or was it with another forum?

Hard call. I quite like the warmer shift in the redux and the slight taming of the uppermost lights, but the lower/more distant ones have lost too much presence imho, most noticeable in the big burstie on the glass wall. I prefer the brighter foreground impact in the original too (just). Seeing this again reminds me of how nicely the DA15 does bursties; I went out last night specifically for DA21 stopped down bursties, and while happy with the results, the DA15 wins.

it's the b-side to the other pov and imo failed to improve it but was worth a try.

Portra is one of the Fuji presets I think - cheaper way to go (if I ignore initial capital outlay). Lovely macro definition from the new lens.

Interesting that while the optics of this lens are duplicated in the DFA version, the FA rates higher in the PF database. It will also be interesting to see how it stacks up against the MacTak in your hands - faster and auto, but will it match the MacTak character that you've been able to draw out so successfully. The joys of new toys.

Hopefully they won't shoot her down! You'll need to be careful stumbling around in the dark too.

Would a pack of coyotes be anything to be wary of from your point of view? Or would they just skulk off when they realised you'd seen them? Lovely warm earthy tones in this one.
