Two quite different images, unfair to compare in some ways. Both stand proudly in my book but I admit that this one is very compelling for its novelty. It's like you've got the desert scene bound up in a huge glass ball.

Quite extraordinary. Nice working of the sun's angle with the low pov, and a great sky behind. Thinking colour must have looked pretty good as well.

Nice framing again, but I prefer the earlier version. I note the decoration here - lit up at night for Chrsitmas?

Doesn't have the full moon vibe of the earler one but now the plant's toughness seems much heightened with the prominent spikes and irregularly shaped leaves.

A reminder of the nice bokeh from the GR; was the iii noticeably better?

It hasn't stuck in my mind that you have one of these either ... but this seems a very suitable application of it; such an intriguing pattern to ponder.

This one definitely adds another dimension to it, taking the wide angle macro look to the extreme.
