Stark forest sentinels. Killed in a big fire? I prefer this to the one next door - the landscape format fits more trees in and the angular gap in the clouds adds a lot imho.

Thinking colour would be good as well to bring out the contrast between black burnt stuff and new growth.

This set has me wondering if falling branches is a risk camping amongst these trees. I see many with bare tops. But maybe the stuff just comes down in storms. Many of our eucalypts drop branches without warning - no wind, but it may have got too hot, too wet - there's a handful of people killed each year.

Why do they do that? Is it a way of cleaning antlers, or do they eat the tree shavings?

Quite different rendering from the Laowa works well. Grand sky to set everything off.

Great symmetry here and very effective background to the twisted log. Very nice. Enjoyed comparing it with the Laowa - both have their charms.
