The wider angle is nice too, especially with inclusion of the scree slope in the bottom right corner.

Yay, a much more obliging sky structure. Wondering if there's a magenta caste on the upland features or is this just "blue" haze effect whose impact is more evident as distance increases. Very nice how the colour helps distinguish the vegetation and the continuity of the road.

I still like the landscape, although I prefer the earlier darker/more contrast version, but I agree about the sky. Perhaps you could add a Photoshop sky - there are people who do so and regularly get their pictures in Explore's Top 10

that big expanse of black sky really dominates for me - perhaps lighten it a touch and/or crop a bit off the top to give the land some more weight?

Ripper! That LE sky sits so well with the stark landscape.

Nicely rotated view to include more of the adjoining plain on the left and I note a particularly nice balance between highlights and shaded areas on and around the main feature.

Colour for the win this time; enjoying the enhanced shadow detail.
