Just a couple minute walk from the house, tops. Pocket tripod strapped to fence that separates our hood from the walking trail.

Interesting choice of camera for a shot like this but it has come out really well, which isn't really that surprising with its stellar lens.
Also with Rod wanting to see more of the desert night sky.

Brilliant. The doubling of the exposure time has brought out the stars even better, even though some daylight has been retrieved. I'm surprised the cactus has fared so well. Well done on your placement of Orion's belt and sword. Far from home?
