@Cindy, I'm not a smugmug user (unless you count flickr haha). I use domain hosting and Piwigo open source photo gallery software. I've had this site running for about twenty years, which I started as a place for family photo sharing... Started using it more heavily for my photography hobby as well maybe six or seven years ago, primarily because I decided that flickr was going to only be for my "better" photos. My thinking was that 99% of my photos are not very good so that 1% to flickr would work out nicely. Shortly after making the switch though I realized that 100% of my photos are not very good, and I struggled a lot with deciding which photos should go to flickr... So posted to flickr less and less over time and now it's an extremely rare occurrence, especially because I so rarely make photos that I think are worthy. So rare that I don't even consider it anymore. I do get tempted sometimes out of boredom to switch back to flickr, but then I'd have to pay for it, and I already pay for my domain hosting service (about the same price as the flickr membership).

A very painful way to get a picture! Would not have guessed this was a Roosevelt verse, but that aside, your shadow is certainly the highlight, especially against the red cages, and reminds me of "The Thinker" by Rodin. Handy having the green bush too.
