Nicely timed and positioned for long reaching sun burst rays. Love the flare and highlight on the rock. Well seen and captured.

It seems most fires happen around the edges of Phoenix but not in Phoenix. Like you said not enough fuel. But small ones may still happen sometimes but not since i've been here. There was a small one just a couple days ago near Lake Pleasant which is to the north.

About a half hour walk/hike with stops for snaps. About a mile up using the most direct route then took a longer route back to the car and did 2.31 miles in total. Not much elevation. Some rocky parts but many people of all ages and abilities have been on it both times I've gone now.

Crikey you've got some long rays reaching across the frame. Nice.

What a vista. And so accessible! Some similarities with Broken Hill (apart from the mining), maybe that generates some of my liking for this area.

I think I prefer this one because of the cactus lighting/shadow.

Someone else over on the right too. How long does it take you to get up here? And what's the distance?

So it has - both types
Love the foreground light and colour. Are wild fires an issue at all? It's obviously dry for much of the year but the fuel loads seem pretty light.
And thanks for the maps.

Love this one. The fill flash is just right IMHO. Very nice how the sunburst mimics the prickle clusters.
