Even allowing for foreshortening, the relative size of the HB to the Jacarandah seed pod, renders the bird tiny in my book. I didn't know they came that small.

What a little cutie. Did I ever say HB's in LA were the creatures I found the most alien and interesting coming from England? I could handle the rougher parts of LA (and rather foolishly used to cycle through them as a teenager) but HBs were so different.
