A worldwide thing I'm sure. The comfort is knowing that all the other parents are also waiting for their own moment(s) of pride and joy.

The bird is more at threat by the rats than that cats.. She had a rat living with her inside the cage for about a week at one point. Once we finally spotted the rat in there we noticed the bird was looking skinny and we realized the rat was eating all the food and we realized why the bird had been screaming a lot more than usual. Since then we started putting the food away at night and the rats don't come around her cage anymore as far as we can tell. Since getting the cats that rats seem to be visiting a bit less too surprise surprise. I look forward to the first rat kill.

Her color guard did a number at a band Christmas performance at school. we had to sit through a couple hours of band ensemble to see Hannah do her one song... She did great though.

OMG - has the bird survived? We used to have a budgie and he would have been apoplectic in this situation.
