pretty sure that's from the film filter during it's pass through Nik-Afx which was at the end of processing the image.

yeah this was all on the same walk and was surprised how long the pink lingered.. was challenging to stay focused on Kim and our conversation and not give my full attention to shooting.

it was very near what looked to be the temporary shelter of a homeless person in an area where it's not uncommon to encounter them, so I'd say the former.

yeah i agree. i intentionally focused on the forward part of the leaf too in order to try to get familiar with the DOF I get with the old preset at F4 on the small sensor. Was actually thinking I'd get a little more so was worth the experiment.
