Amazing flower structure and many of those surrounding spikes are like little spears with barbs. I like your composition giving so much space to the bokeh - great way of taming the cactus.

Yeah I did these couple shots first then when I came back with the FA43 attached, I became too interesting to ignore so she got up and came down to check things out. We re-homed* our beloved Cavalier doggies a week ago, so Charlie our big dog has had free roam of the house, and despite being as mellow a dog as can be, she is freaked out by him still, so she is spending a lot of time on her perch here.
*It was about a year in the making... We tried and tried but simply could not provide them with the kind of time and attention they require. We found a perfect older couple who are Cavalier obsessed and had both their Cavalier dogs pass away recently and they were ready to take these two on and make them the center of their lives. It's a perfect match and everyone is happy. We are sad but also incredibly relieved as we were having one problem after another with them.
I always do the fiddly type manipulations in Gimp. It's all I've ever used, meaning that I've never given Photoshop anything more than a brief half-hearted trial.

Nice result; Mishka has a slightly funnier grin in this one. I like the moose emphasis too - which software do you prefer to blend with?

glad you like it. chose to put it on flickr too the other day... have this in IR too but through playing around with the processing liked the dark greens better for contrast. This is next door to my dad's place and have no idea what it was. I should ask him. It's a huge empty lot easily five times what is visible here. I didn't explore it photographically as much as I should have.

Ripper b&w; especially the sky and the low pov accentuating the weeds. Odd looking building - just a long shed?
